its been a long long break, and here i am back on blogosphere. the reason of which i am particularly unsure of. maybe i just have a few thoughts to pen down/keep myself reminded of.

a few accomplishments over the past 6 months:

-completed my adv dip at mdis: and i can truly say i've learnt quite a few things - econs, acct, ops mgmt, marketing,hr,compsci
-gotten a good scholarship to further my studies/ at the same time giving up another and incurring a penalty of SGD1000.00 =(
-gotten a new girlfriend (haa.. she's gonna kill me if she reads this)
-practically given up on clubbing
-undertaken a healthy new lifestyle (saturday morning jogs at east coast/ regular gym sessions/swims)
-kept myself spiritually-healthy

i probably could pen down a few pointers to keep myself focused. but i'll keep that for a future post.
at present, there are very important things to look at.
-> UNIVERSITY APPLICATION DEADLINES<- !!!!!!!

ok.. so here are my choice university (may be subject to future changes)

1. Columbia University:
+ Living in the state of New York , albeit high costs and living on krispy kreme doesnt sound particularly appealing
+ 5-yr Econs-CS programme - to be completed in 4
+Ivy League
-No driving
-Unsure if they will accept me because of my weak SAT1

2. Brown University:
+CS-Econs Prog (doub deg v common)
+Ivy League
-Not Guaranteed admission

3. University of California, Berkeley
+California life is goooood
+The life is so good that it warrants another '+'
+Extremely strong IT and Econs faculty
+Near to Oracle's Global HQ - probably easy to do 6mths overseas internship there
-Then again, i'd rather study at Columbia in New York and still do the internship in California.. Yipeee
-Indians who got rejected from IIT who come here are going to roast my C++/Java/whatever-prog-language-illiterate brain
-Tough to get in (poor SAT1 scores again)

4.Northwestern University
+Moderately easy to get in
+Law/econs/CS?
+Driving
+No need for SAT2
-Cold, away from city
-Not Ivy League

5.University of Michigan
+Easy to get in + No need for SAT2
+Early entry (April)
-Lots of Singaporeans
-Cold
-I'd prefer to go to CU or Brown
